The first American Heart Month was established in the month of February in 1964 by President Lyndon B. Johnson. In that time period, cardiovascular disease accounted for more than 50% of deaths in the United States. While cardiovascular disease is still one of the leading causes of deaths in the United States and the number 1 cause of death globally, it’s important to continue to raise awareness and encourage everyone to learn more.

At University Post-Acute in Sacramento, we encourage you to take charge of you and your loved ones’ health. This February, ask your doctor what you can do to help your heart.
